Since 1982, acupuncture has found its way to the U.S.. There are currently 50 schools that teach and 3,000 licensed practitioners all over the country. Do you think you can be a licensed professional? Here are a few things to help you find good acupuncture school.

You should now that the 50 schools mentioned are all accredited by the National Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. This is recognized by the Ministry of Education and some schools even have master’s program.

Most of these schools can be found online so you can call and ask some questions about the school. You can find out the cost of school, student teacher ratio, if the school offers counseling services to students and alumni, and if they have a library that focuses on the broad traditional Chinese medicine.

There must be a school near where you live, you may have to bring so you do not need to worry about boarding and lodging as this only added to the cost of this long term investment.

If you want to school but can not afford to pay school fees, find out if they offer scholarships or if they have any funds in the aid program. If no, then check with the federal government because they must have one and they will give it to deserving students who plan to enroll in schools that are accredited by the National Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

Some states do not require you to obtain a license once you graduate from this program. However, if you plan to exercise this in other places, you must prepare yourself for the state board exam as this is a requirement.

List of subjects that will be learning in school include anatomy, body therapy, massage and other sciences. This training will also be done in clinical settings so that you can put the theory in practice, but this will only happen in the third year.
